Paolo Napoletano is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca since 2021. He has got the Italian National Academic Qualification as Full Professor of Computer Science (01/B1) and Computer Engineering (09/H1) in January 2021 and November 2020 respectively. From 2018 to 2021 he has been tenured Assistant Professor of Computer Science at University of Milan-Bicocca. From 2012 to 2018 he has been post-doc researcher at University of Milan-Bicocca and from 2007 to 2012 post-doc researcher at University of Salerno. In 2007, he received a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Information Engineering from the University of Salerno with a thesis focused on Computational Vision and Pattern Recognition. In 2003, he received a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, with a thesis focused on Transmission of Electromagnetic Fields. His main research interests are in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine and Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Intelligent Sensors, Biological signal processing, Human-Machine Systems, Digital Health, AI-Assisted Healthcare, Telemonitoring, Telehealth, Intelligent Consumer Technologies and Internet of Things. He is author of more than 120 scientific papers in Scopus high-ranked and indexed journals and conferences. He is on the Stanford list of World’s top 2% researchers in “Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing” in 2019, 2020 and 2021.He is Associate Editor of the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Neurocomputing Elsevier Journal, IET Signal Processing, MDPI Sensors Journal and MDPI Smart Cities Journal. He is member of the ELLIS Society (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems). He is the chair of the IEEE CTSoc Machine learning, Deep learning and AI in CE (MDA) Technical Committee (TC). He has been principal investigator of several research contracts with consumer electronics industries and responsible of research activities in public-funded projects. He is co-founder of the Spin-Off Imaging and Vision Solutions. At the University of Milano-Bicocca he is professor of Foundations of Deep Learning, Intelligent Consumer Technologies, Internet of Things and Databases.
